Conservatories

Here at Charm windows we build all styles of conservatories From the traditional Victorian, the classic Edwardian, the particularly light and airy Gable End or the more contemporary Lean-to sunrooms we are sure that you will find a design to bring new life and energy to your home.

Whatever style or combination of styles you decide on, it will be tailored to your individual needs, creating your own ideal space.

There are a number of things to consider when making your decision, including

make sure the conservatory you are planning is in proportion to your house. Too big and it may dwarf your house and to small and you may not be making best use of the available space.

Size

Style

we have found that some things work better than others, for instance ‘P’ and ‘T’ shaped floor plans work better for larger conservatories, where as a simple rectangular floor plan are usually best for the smaller conservatory.

Walls

the first choice is to decide whether you want full height glazing or dwarf walls with glazing above, if you decide on dwarf walls you need to think of the finish you would like either a brick finsih or a plastered finish you can decorate.

Bear in mind the aspect of your conservatory. Conservatories that face south receive the most sun and as such, the need for adequate ventilation  is crucial. You might also want to think about using thermal inserts or Celsius performance glass in the roof.
